History and modern attractions meet at the Missions and South San Antonio. Named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the San Antonio Missions and their corresponding Catholic parishes are open to the public to visit, learn and explore. The Mission reach portion of the River Walk connects four missions to each other and to Downtown for easy outdoor adventures by foot or bike. And outdoor adventures – hiking, biking, golfing, and outdoor movies – are not to be missed.

Environmental education. On the river. In the great outdoors. On the southside. Discover Confluence Park. A project of the San Antonio River Foundation, Confluence Park is envisioned as an interactive teaching tool to inspire a greater understanding of Texas ecotypes and watershed dynamics. The Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project has transformed an eight-mile stretch of the San Antonio River on the southside into a quality riparian woodland ecosystem. Confluence Park has a multitude of features designed to inspire visitors to become stewards of our environment. Open daily from sunrise to 11pm, the park offers 35 parking spaces on site, and is a gateway to hike, bike and paddling trails, which begins near the Blue Star Arts Complex and ends near Mission Espada.
